SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Howard Park held their annual Paint It Forward where families received a reduced skate rate of four dollars and were able to paint the ice.
The event began at 12 p.m. and lasted until 2 p.m. and around 120 people showed up to ice skate and paint.
Every attendee was welcome to use their imagination to what they would like, some drew houses, flowers, or signed their name.
Macey Hanna, Director of Recreation, stated, "We've heard a lot of thank you today. I think people are just gracious to have something to be able to do, to get out when it's colder temperatures. The community is just very thankful and looking to an opportunity that isn't always just ice skating. So, people that may not skate on a regular basis, they didn't have to be in skates today, they could come out in their tennis shoes and be out on the ice and enjoy."
