SOUTH BEND, Ind. – South Bend Venues Parks & Arts will open ice skate season at Howard Park Ice Trail and Pond Friday, November 27th at noon. There will be extra precautions being taken under the approval of the St. Joseph County Health Department.

The Ice Trail and Ice P9ond will operate at approximately 40% capacity and be limited to timed sessions.

Visitors must reserve skate times online in advance to reduce crowds. Tickets will be available starting November 23rd.

Masks will be required by all visitors at all times in the entire park.

The indoor space will only be available for restroom use.

According to state ordinance, food and drinks can only be consumed while seated.

“Adhering to the guidelines set forth by our local health officials is of utmost importance. It’s also important for our community to have a place of respite, and we plan to provide that opportunity as long as we’re able,” said Director of Recreation, Jonathan Jones.
