Hundreds of students visit the Cove for 'School Day'

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Hundreds of local students packed Coveleski Stadium in South Bend for some good old fashioned baseball!

Wednesday was another "School Day" at the Cove!

For just $5, students ate lunch and watched the silver hawks take on the Fort Wayne Tin Caps.

Even though the Silver Hawks didn't win, the day was not lost.

Students looked on the bright side and chose to enjoy themselves.

"Well, it was really special because last year we came, but then it got rained out. So we were glad to come this year and it be really nice,” said Chloe Girten, a Middlebury Elementary 3rd grader.

The Tin Caps beat the Silver Hawks, 7 to 5.

But the kids celebrated anyway by running the bases.
