Indiana Michigan Power had over 500 of their employees working throughout the day Tuesday to restore service.

I&M says they were able to restore service to a total of 65% of customers impacted by Monday’s windstorm.

As of 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, outage numbers dropped to 7,597 in Indiana and 3,046 in Michigan.

In Indiana, La Porte County had 892 outages and St. Joseph County had 6,705.

In Michigan, Berrien County had 2,898 homes still in the dark, while Cass County had 148.

I&M says their crews will continue to work throughout the night to get as many customers restored with power as possible.

Storms are possible late Wednesday night into the early morning which could result in additional outages.

In the event of more outages, I&M plans to keep a focus on the customers who have lost power first to ensure they get their power back by first priority.
