Indiana AG encourages Hoosiers to check for unclaimed property
MGN INDIANAPOLIS -- Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita is encouraging Hoosiers to check if they have any unclaimed property, including unclaimed wages, money orders, and more.
“As St. Patrick’s Day has once again come and gone, Hoosiers should still try their luck,” Rokita said. “Even if your unclaimed pot of gold is modest, you should take possession of what is rightfully yours. You’ll never know unless you search for it.”
You can check if you have unclaimed property on IndianaUnclaimed.gov or by texting CLAIM to 46220 to search your name, family, or business.
Unclaimed property includes:
- Unclaimed wages or commissions
- Money orders
- Safe deposit box contents
- Savings and checking accounts
- Refunds
- Overpayments such as:
- Credit card balances
- Cell phone bills
The AG's Unclaimed Property Division set an all-time record in 2025, by returning over $88 million to rightful owners, surpassing previous highs, according to the AG's Office.
