Indiana middle school teacher turns himself in after having sex with student

HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. — An Indiana middle school teacher has been accused of having sex with one of his students.

Investigators heard of an inappropriate relationship at the school between a teacher and a student.

When word got out, 8th grade math teacher Joseph Singleton turned himself in.

Students can't believe their teacher would do something like this.

"He was like teacher of the year and seemed like a really cool guy and it's hard to believe he would do something like that," said one of the students.

The superintendent of the school met with the family of the student but would not comment on the investigation.
