Indiana State Trooper retired Friday

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- Master Trooper Jeffery Rimel, a St. Joseph County resident, worked his last day of “on the job” service for Indiana State Police on Friday.

Rimel served as a trooper with the Indiana State Police for nearly 42 years before retiring.

After graduating from Plymouth High School in 1975, Rimel went on to attend Vincennes University and Eastern Kentucky University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 1979.

Throughout his years of service, Rimel has been a RADAR, VASCAR, and LIDAR instructor, a First Aid instructor, Field Training Officer and member of the TIP Team. 

Rimel accumulated approximately 1,400,000 safe driving miles throughout his career.
