INDOT work affecting traffic on US31 Monday and Tuesday

The Indiana Department of Transportation will be conducting periodic closures of US 31 on June 1st and June 2nd.

INDOT will conduct periodic closures of US31 between the US20 Bypass and Kern Road.

Only the northbound lanes will be affected.

The closures will be necessary to ensure the safety of drivers while massive beams are set for the new Johnson Road bridge.

On Tuesday, one southbound lane of US31 between Kern Road and the US 20 bypass and the ramp from eastbound US20 Bypass to southbound US31 will be closed all day. In addition, there will be up to ten 20-minute closures of the open southbound lane between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

To avoid delays, drivers are encouraged to avoid U.S. 31 northbound entirely on Monday and avoid U.S. 31 southbound entirely on Tuesday.
