Notre Dame football extended its winning streak to six games, and improved to 7-1 overall on the season, after taking down its second Top-15 opponent in two weeks in North Carolina State.
The Irish ran for 318 yards and two touchdowns against the Wolfpack defense, which entered Notre Dame stadium as the sixth-best rushing defense in the country.
Individual performances were led by Josh Adams, who topped 200 yards once again and eclipsed the 1,000-yard rushing mark to become the fastest player in program history to reach that mark in a single season. Brandon Wimbush threw for two touchdowns and ran for one more, his 11th rushing TD of the year, which also set a single-season record. It broke a tie with the 2015 record of 10 set by DeShone Kizer.
The defense also turned in perhaps its best performance of the year, highlighted by Julian Love's interception return for a touchdown. That was the first interception NC State quarterback Ryan Finley had thrown all season.

Notre Dame now looks to continue its winning streak next weekend when it hosts Wake Forest. That is the last of a three-game home-stand for the Irish, before meeting yet another highly-ranked team in Miami on November 11.
