Irish Football kicks off season with the first official practice

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Saturday was the official first day of Notre Dame football.

Practice started early in the morning as the Irish started to gear up for the season.

The question on everybody's mind is still who will start as quarterback. ABC 57 News talked to some of the defensive players.

"It's just fun to be out there and having all those coaches out there. You know, having that speed on speed. That's really going to work for us," said defensive end Kapron Lewis-Moore.

"This is a different team and we're constantly getting better. That might not show in our record, but you know, we hope to change that this year," said Manti Te’o.

The Irish take on Navy in their season opener in Ireland.
