ISP releases results for 17th Prescription Drug Take Back Day

INDIANAPOLIS—The Indiana State Police, in partnership with federal and local government agencies, on Monday announced the results of the 17th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day that was held April 27.

According to the DEA, Indiana residents safely disposed 22,757 pounds of unused medication.

Over 460 tons of unused medication was disposed of nationally on April 27.

The partnership with DEA works to prevent prescription drug abuse and theft by providing proper disposal sites for prescription drugs. There were 95 sites participating in the April 27 event across the state of Indiana.
