'Jersey Tough' runs deep through Notre Dame players

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -

Steve Vastoria, T.J. Gibbs, and Matt Farrell all hail from New Jersey and bring with them the 'Jersey Tough' mentality.

"They play hard and they're not scared of anyone and play the way that they know they can," Head Coach Mike Brey said.

But what exactly does it mean?

"They play hard and they're not scared of anyone and play the way that they know they can," Farrell said.

"It's something every Jersey guy tries to holding and maintaining the title of," Gibbs said.

Watching Notre Dame play in the early part of this season, this team is playing with a certain edge, and it's because that edge defines the region the three Jersey kids hail from.

All players proudly represent the Jersey brand but Vastoria will label himself as both a Jersey and Philly guy, well until the Governor calls.

"Governor Christie has called him out and remember you're a Jersey guy and I think Matt Farrell has called him out on that," Brey said.
