K9 Unit tracks down domestic violence suspect

A Cass County Sheriff's K-9 helped track down a domestic violence suspect Monday evening.

Cass County deputies were called to a home in the 66000 block of Elbow Lake Street in Porter Township around 7:41 p.m. to investigate a domestic violence call.

When deputies arrived, they learned the suspect, a 31-year-old male, had fled form the residence.

K-9 Faust and his handler located the suspect in a wooded area approximately 1/2 mile from the home.

The subject was taken into custody and transported to the Cass County Jail.

K9 Faust started with the Cass County Sheriffs Office in July of 2016 he is a 3 year old Dutch Shepard from the Netherlands.
