SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- On Tuesday, Dec. 16, the Salvation Army Kroc Center of South Bend celebrated Toy Distribution Day.
They distributed thousands of toys to local families in need just before Christmas. Over 900 families and 2200 kids signed up this year, which has increased from previous years.
Major Jason Poff, Senior Kroc Officer, stated, "When we're able to deliver hope to families, and that's what happens. Families come in and they're able to pick out toys for their kids, and all of a sudden, now Christmas can be Christmas for their family. And the community rallies around families that are in need. And it's such a special thing to see that, to just see the number of toys that have come in so that they can provide for their neighbors and their friends and their coworkers."
