LA PORTE, Ind. -- A La Porte artist and retired high school teacher is celebrating Barbie with a piece of Indiana History.
Laura Krentz is just one of the many artists in the Depot Museum and Art Gallery's exhibit featuring Beverly Shores' Florida Tropical House.
The Florida Tropical house overlooks Lake Michigan right next to the Indiana Dunes National Park. It was one of the "Century of Progress" homes exhibited in the Chicago World'd Fair in 1933. The home was later brought to the shoreline in 1935.
The Depot Museum and Art Gallery is located at 525 S. Broadway Street in Beverly Shores, Indiana. It's open Saturday from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Central Time, and Sundays from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Central Time.
