Lake City Bank opens in downtown South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The City of South Bend marked the opening of a new bank downtown.

Lake City Bank has moved into the American Trust Place building on Michigan Street.

Even South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg was in attendance on Tuesday for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The CEO of Lake City said the community bank needed room to expand, and downtown South Bend was the perfect place!

"Downtown is, in this case, where it is happening. We think the professional environment that is here -- the law firms, the accounting firms, other businesses, these are the kind of people that are good for our business,” said Mike Kubacki, the CEO of Lake City Bank.

Lake City Bank has 12 offices around the region.
