LaSalle Square Unity Garden puts food on the table
In today's tough economy, people are looking for help putting food on the table.
ABC57 took a tour of the LaSalle Square Unity Garden in South Bend Wednesday morning.
The garden isn't just about growing fruits and vegetables. It's bringing all kinds of people together!
"Reducing fear of each other's differences. The street homeless, the neighbors, and the student groups are coming together as one; shedding their raws and equalizing their opportunities to see each other's positive points. That is what I like to grow most here," said Sara Stewart, the Executive Director of the Unity Gardens.
Of the 41 unity gardens in South Bend, LaSalle Square is the largest. It serves over 100 people daily!
