Cold and snowy to begin the week
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- This Sunday is the final day to attend the free Ag Days event being held at the St. Joseph County Fairgrounds.
Hosted by St. Joseph County Parks, Ag Day runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the commercial building of the County Fairgrounds.
There are eight different interactive stations with a number of vendors selling items.
“Ag Days is an opportunity to come out and learn just where your food comes from. It’s an educational opportunity. So, we have different stations, you start at the welcome barn, grab a basket, and then you go around in different stations and do different activities that a farmer would do,” said James Kemble, Co-Chair of the St. Joseph County Ag Team.
One of these activities includes teaching kids how maple syrup is made. There is also an assortment of farm animals available for visitors to see.
“You can expect to be around livestock that you may not normally be around, we’ve got some pigs, some baby calves, goats, sheep, dairy cows, milk cows,” said Kemble.
The event is free and is being held indoors.
