BERRIEN COUNTY, Mi. -- Pinecrest Christmas Tree Farm has been a Michiana tradition for many families for years.
This past weekend they opened its doors to the public for the season.
Assistant Manager Kris Goodenough said the opening weekend is all about making sure everything runs smoothly as more people come out to find their tree.
At Pinecrest Tree Farm there are rows and rows of trees of all different shapes, sizes, types, and colors.
The field of trees is about 80 acres and Goodenough said about 50 acres of that is all Christmas trees. At the tree farm, you can find a wide selection of pre-cut and you-cut trees.
Last year, the tree farm ran out of you-cut trees and had to close down for the season early. Goodenough said trees are in high demand right now and recommends coming out sooner rather than later to pick out a Christmas tree.
"We're getting to the point where more and more people are wanting to get their tree early, and we find to that if you're needing to find a little bigger tree or a good selection, the earlier you come out the better," Goodenough said.
Goodenough mentioned if you want to beat the crowds on the weekends, take advantage of coming in on the weekdays. The tree farm is open every day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
They will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. Extended hours are on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
