SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Michiana business owners, athletes and ABC57’s own anchor Tim Spears participated in for Friday’s Center for the Homeless Dancing with our Stars fundraiser event.
The center’s largest annual fundraising event was sold out Friday as local leaders showed off their dance moves in an effort to combat the area’s homelessness issues.
Each dancer promoted the night in an effort to receive votes in the form of $43 donations to fundraise for the event. $43 is the cost to shelter and feed someone battling homelessness every day.
"This was just a dream of theirs to add the dancing to the event and we weren't sure if it was going to work, and, low and behold, it’s been 14 years later and its worked, and I’ll do anything I can to give back to our community,” said Nicole Majewski, Dance Instructor.
