Local high school Spell Bowl teams win big in state competition

Both Penn High School and John Glenn High School were crowned state champions in their respective classes Saturday at the state competitions at Purdue University.

This win gives Penn High School their 14th state title for their Spell Bowl team.

The Kingsmen's team was flawless in the competition, obtaining a perfect score of 90.

This is the 39th perfect score in Penn's school history.

Penn High School won the state championship in Class One, while John Glenn took home the Class Two title.
