Scouts BSA Troop 541 of Buchanan celebrates centennial anniversary
SAINT JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Monday marks Cinco de Mayo, the annual celebration of Mexico's victory at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.
Local Mexican restaurants are preparing for the influx of customers on the popular holiday amongst foodies.
General Manager at Salsa's Mexican Grill in Granger, Ignacio S. Boites, says they will offer Cinco de Mayo specials, and the margaritas will be flowing during Happy Hour.
He adds that they are always excited to teach their customers more about the Mexican culture.
"It could be from El Dia de los Muertos to 'What kind of tequilas you like?'. You know, we have a lot of customers coming in and like, 'Hey, I just went to Mexico. Do you have this bottle? It was so good.' So, there's a lot of people that they're interested in, not just in the food, but the actual culture," says Boites.
