Lubeznik Center for the Arts presents Abstruse Daydreaming

The Lubeznik Center for the Arts presents Abstruse Daydreaming which features fiber scapes by Meredith Setser and contemporary abstract paintings by Jay Zerbe.

Setser’s installations resemble various ecosystems and landscape formations.

Her work utilizes printed motifs that reference patterns found in urban infrastructure, agricultural & eco systems. Applied to handmade felt these substrates are then cut, sewn, layered, and folded into a sculptural installation.

Zerbe’s abstract paintings are informed by the landscape and strike a balance between order and chaos.

In his works, the appearance of order breaks down under scrutiny, which mirrors Zerbe’s understanding of reality. The core of the work revolves around juxtaposing these diverse structures and their uncertain references.

The exhibition is installed in the Hyndman Gallery.
