Man arrested after allegedly striking pedestrian intentionally at Blueberry Festival

Matthew Colglazier

PLYMOUTH, Ind. -- The Plymouth Police Department reports officers were conducting foot patrols at Centennial Park during the Blueberry Festival on Aug. 31 just after 10 p.m. when they were informed a vehicle had struck a pedestrian.

Officers arrived on scene southeast of Randolph and Plymouth-Goshen Trail, to find a man with a minor ankle injury.

The victim and witnesses identified 52-year-old Matthew Colglazier, of Niles, as the driver of a vehicle.

Witnesses stated Colglazier intentionally struck the man with his vehicle due to his anger at pedestrians not moving out of his way fast enough after the fireworks event.

The victim was treated by paramedics while Colglazier was taken into custody.

Colglazier was taken to the Marshall County Jail and faces a preliminary felony charge of Battery with a Deadly Weapon.
