Man arrested for drunk driving after reports of slashing tires
Joshua M. Shaffer MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- A 27-year-old man was arrested by Marshall County Deputies for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Tuesday after reports of him breaking car windows and slashing tires, says the Marshall County Sheriff's Office.
Around 7:26 p.m. Tuesday, Marshall County Deputies were dispatched to the area of 301 Cale Street and 113 Troyer Street in Lapaz for reports of a man breaking a woman's car windows and slashing her tires.
The report also noted that the man was drinking and driving a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado between homes.
Deputies arrived and determined the man was 27-year-old Joshua M. Shaffer and that he had been driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Shaffer was transported to Plymouth Hospital for a certified chemical test, where he was found to be just under three times the legal limit for alcohol.
Shaffer was transported to the Marshall County Sheriff's Department and booked for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a Prior Conviction as a Level 6 Felony.
Shaffer's bond was set at $1,500 and he was given a court date.
