Man proposes to girlfriend with Christmas light display

ST. LOUIS -- This Christmas was extra special for a couple in St. Louis.

A Missouri man got creative when he proposed to his girlfriend of seven years, Meghan Ohrman. 

He popped the big question using Christmas lights shaped to read, “Will you marry me?”

Ohrman said she never saw it coming. 

“It was a complete surprise,” said Ohrman. “I kind of had given up hope for it happening this year, and we drove past my house, and there it is.”

He didn’t stage the big proposal on his own, he had the help of several relatives and friends, one of whom set up a fireworks display to go off the minute Ohrman said "yes.”
