Memorial Hospital hosts hallway trick-or-treating

SOUTH BEND, Ind.--Kids at a local hospital were treated to a Halloween event all their own.

The kids at Memorial Hospital in South Bend were taken down the hallways to trick-or-treat. Organizers say it helps make the environment more tolerable for the children.

"One thing kids love to do is dress up, wear  a costume, pretend to be something they are not and so Halloween is a free pass for that,” says Tracy Byler.

Organizers also say it helps kids take part in events that are important to people as they're growing up. The staff says it also helps them create a bond and build some trust with the young patients
