Meningitis outbreak: State takes action against pharmacy

The Indiana Attorney General’s office filed an emergency petition with the Indiana Board of Pharmacy asking that the license of the New England Compounding Center, linked to the meningitis outbreak, be suspended.

The Board of Pharmacy will review the AG’s request at it s next meeting on November 5th.

If it is suspended, NECC would not be able to operate in Indiana for a period of 90 days.

During that time the AG would likely file a formal complaint with the licensing board.

As of October 25, the US Centers for Disease Control has identified 328 cases of fungal meningitis in 18 states.
