MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- Officers with Michigan City Animal Control recently issued a warning to residents regarding an unknown suspect illegally trapping cats and poisoning them with an unknown substance.

Authorities are investigating the incidents and are attempting to locate those responsible.

Animal Control is encouraging the public to monitor their pets closely while they're outside. 

Residents should contact the Michigan City Police Department’s non-emergency number at (219) 874-3221 if they observe suspicious activity in their area.
