Michigan reports 2,060,698 total cases of COVID-19, 32,118 deaths

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported 1,842 new cases* of COVID-19, and 68 new deaths**.

*Today's daily case count represents confirmed cases over two days (Thursday & Friday). The average number of new cases is 921 per day.

**Deaths announced today includes 54 deaths identified during a Vital Records review. 

The state has had a total of 2,058,856 COVID-19 cases, 32,050 deaths, and 11,400,233 vaccine doses administered***. 

  • Berrien Co.: 30,393 confirmed cases, 493 deaths, 160,918 vaccine doses administered
  • Cass Co.: 9,196 cases, 126 deaths, 38,633 vaccine doses administered
  • St. Joseph Co.:  11,950 cases, 167 deaths, 51,711 vaccine doses administered
  • Van Buren Co.: 15,544 cases, 238 deaths, 84,448 vaccine doses administered

Note: The state of Michigan's website will no longer be updating the cumulative total of recovered COVID-19 cases. As of January 20, 2022, 1,421,905 people have recovered in the state.
