Michigan high school student collapses after track practice

FERNDALE, Mich. — Saturday night family and friends are mourning the loss of a student in Michigan who collapsed after track practice.

Mario Campbell was a track student at his school. He collapsed after practice on Thursday.

The school's principal said he was a quiet, positive student and a well-liked kid.

"Just a great student overall, just celebrating his life," said Lisa Williams, principal of Ferndale High School.

Williams said the school has shown great support to the victim's family and friends.

There has been no cause of death released yet.
