Michigan mall shoppers flee after hearing what they thought was gunfire

Shoppers in a mall were sent running after hearing what they thought was gunfire on Saturday in Novi, Michigan.

According to the police it wasn't gunfire the shoppers heard, but it was the sound of thieves smashing a jewelry case reports ABC affiliate, WXYZ.

Sources say shoppers were evacuated from the mall and started posting on social media.

Police later confirmed that it was a smash and go robbery.

There is no shooter but four suspects are on the run.
