Michigan State Police investigating fatal crash in Bangor Township

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. -- Michigan State Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened on 66th Street near 26th Avenue in Bangor Township.

The crash happened Friday evening at approximately 8:50 p.m.

The driver of the vehicle was traveling southbound, swerved off the road, traveled down an embankment and struck a tree.

There were three children in the car at the time of the crash.

A 6-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and two children were transported to Bronson Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
