LANSING, Mich. -- Veterans across the state of Michigan will no longer have to pay for special license plates on their cars.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed a new bill on Monday ending the $5 fee for a veteran-designated license plate in Michigan.
The Michigan vehicle code allows for certain United States Armed Forces veterans, medal winners, prisoners of war and spouses to get special commemorative plates honoring their service.
