MISHAWAKA, Ind. – The Christmas tree in downtown Mishawaka was lit on Saturday as a ceremony took place at the police department.
Hundreds of residents and Christmas carolers gathered at the ceremony to light the tree, which has over 10,000 bulbs.
Santa even arrived in a Mishawaka fire truck to celebrate the occasion.
“Mayor Dave does a great job of putting this together the parks department the tree is beautiful every year, Santa does a good job, says hello to everybody, and makes the kids feel welcome,” resident Dave Wavro said.
“It’s good for the community to all come together and do something special you know it brings everybody together to share the love hope and faith of Christmas,” resident Will Singleton said.
The tree will remain lit for the rest of the holiday season for anyone to see.
