Mishawaka Fairview Cemetery announced as location for Wreaths Across America Day

MISHAWAKA, Ind. – Mishawaka’s Fairview Cemetery will serve as the official location for 2018’s Wreaths Across America Day.

Non-profit Wreaths Across America (WAA) and a local veteran’s organization known as Team Red, White and Blue (RWB) of South Bend, Indiana announced that Mishawaka’s Fairview Cemetery will join in support of the mission to Remember, Honor, Teach.

The goal of WAA and RWB is to raise funds for approximately 300 veteran’s wreaths to be placed on the headstones of local heroes laid to rest.

Event organizers hope that this will bring the community together in commemoration of heroes who have protected out country’s freedom and who will not be forgotten.

Organizers say, they hope to triple the amount of wreaths laid at last year’s ceremony with assistance from veteran’s organizations like Combat Veteran’s Motorcycle Association, St. Joe Valley Blue Star Mothers and Notre Dame Mil-Vets Club.

“We are forever grateful for the thousands of supporters who dedicate their time and effort to fulfilling our mission on a local level, “said Executive Director Karen Worcester. She adds, “These individuals and their communities know the value of remembering the fallen, honoring those who currently serve and teaching the next generation about the sacrifices made for our freedom every day, and without their continued support, Wreaths Across America would not exit.”
