Mishawaka residents warned of phone scam regarding utility bill

ABC 57 MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The City of Mishawaka says there have been several reports of fake phone calls claiming to be from Mishawaka Utilities.
The scammer says you’re “behind on your bill” and demands immediate payment or they’ll shut off your service.
City officials say these calls are a hoax and you should hang up right away.
Never give out credit card info or make payments over the phone.
