Mississippi woman files lawsuit against Facebook for alleged wire-tap violation

LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Miss. --

Facebook is facing a lawsuit after a Mississippi woman said the social network spied on her!

In federal court, she filed paperwork accusing Facebook of violating wire-tap laws to track her online activity. She says they were tracking her even when she wasn't logged onto the site.

Facebook denies the allegations. The company did admit that in the past, it tracked users through cookies, which are small files a website sends to your computer when you visit.

Facebook claims to have fixed the problem before the Mississippi suit was filed.
