More than 350 Indiana Michigan Power workers are traveling to Florida this week to help crews ahead of Hurricane Ian, which is expected to make landfall on the state's Gulf Coast.

Line workers, damage assessors, forestry experts, support staff, and business partners are making the trip. Crews will work 16-hour days to restore power from the storm.

Employees will come from South Bend, Elkhart, southwest Michigan, Fort Wayne, Marion, and Muncie.

There is no timetable for when crews will return but Indiana Michigan Power assures local residents that crews will be ready to respond if outages occur in Indiana and Michigan.
