ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind.—Mishawaka and Penn fire departments were called to a house fire in Osceola on Thursday morning.
Firefighters responded to a house fire at 10308 Lehman Street around 9 a.m. on Thursday.
One male and one dog were found deceased inside of the house, according to the St. Joseph County Police Department.
Officials say that second dog survived the fire and is now with the Humane Society.
According to officials, firefighters found a fire in the attic.
An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, November 29.
Officials say that the fire began on a couch and spread throughout the home.
The cause of the fire is still not clear.
An investigation is ongoing.
