Multiple area schools receive grants for improvements

ELKHART, Ind. -- Multiple schools in our area are receiving grants from the Elkhart Community Schools Education Foundation to make improvements.

The foundation granted over $26,000 to schools.

The money will support teachers and extracurricular activities among other things.

The grant will fund a wide range of things from trauma informed classrooms to equipping special education lifestyle classes.

Schools in Marshall County are receiving funding for safety grants.

They will use the grants to pay for school resource officers, necessary equipment and technology that will keep staff and students safe in an emergency.
