NASA launches communications satellite

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — NASA launched an Alliance Atlas rocket from its launch pad in Florida with a communications satellite.

The launch is part of the organization's tracking and date relay satellite program.

The satellite will provide NASA with 24-hour worldwide communication for the International Space Station and other orbiting space craft.
