MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The National Pro BBQ Tour is the largest barbecue tournament in America, making a stop in Mishawaka.
Saturday, 30 teams put on their aprons, grabbed their spatulas, and competed for $10,000 and a chance to go to the regional championship.
“Everybody out here cooks a little bit differently. Some people out here are cooking hot and fast, some people are low and slow. There are teams out here that put their meats on at 10 p.m. last night. We didn't put ours on ‘til 7 a.m. this morning so we actually got some sleep. But there's all different ways of cooking. As long as you turn it in and the judges like it, that's all that matters,” said Scott Henricks, BBQ contestant.
Cooking tips were and a front row seat to the national competition was given out to backyard enthusiasts who attended.
