New animals at the Potawatomi Zoo

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Potawatomi Zoo announced the their four new residents: Drake, Jackson, Humvee, and Xing-Xing.

Drake and Jackson are Capybaras. Capybaras are the largest living rodent in the world.

According to the zoo, they will share a home with the giant anteaters.

Xing-Xing is a red panda, who made Potawatomi his home in June. He is energetic and excited to welcome a roommate in the exhibit later in 2018.

Humvee, a young American porcupine, joined the zoo in July. He is located in the zoo’s farm area.

Humvee is an animal ambassador and will visit schools as an educational program at Potawatomi.
