New market could breathe new life into shopping plaza

Thursday was the grand opening of Fresh Thyme Farmers Market in Mishawaka.

“Fun is not a dirty word within our company so they come in and we like to have fun and embrace that with our customers,” said Bruce Van Overloop, Fresh Thyme Director of Operations.

On Thursday, Fresh Thyme opened its doors on Grape Road in Mishawaka.

Overloop says he expects 8 to 12,000 customers every single week coming into the store.

Fresh Thyme, he says, fills a void.

“A format like this really doesn’t exist what we try to do is provide the healthy food, organics, non GMOS,” said Overloop.

The first 200 customers received 20 percent off their grocery bill and every 100th customer received free groceries.
