New York soda ban takes effect

NEW YORK CITY -- The ban on sugary drinks over 16-ounces takes effect in New York City Tuesday and many are not happy.

One movie theatre says the new soda ban will cost them $20,00 to $30,000 a year.

The law is part of the mayor's efforts to fight obesity but not everyone is on board. In fact, most say it hurts more than it helps.

"We'll adjust if we have to. It's very, very expensive from the printing, to the glassware to the server tips, everything's a trickle down when you make a decision like that," said a New York business owner.

The fine for offering larger drinks is $200 for every sale.
