No survivors in Carroll County plane crash

CARROLL COUNTY, Ind. – Officials reported that no one survived a plane crash in Carroll County Thursday evening.

According to Indiana State Police, the plane headed to Green Bay, Wisconsin from the Eagle Creek Airport in Indianapolis crashed in a field near Owasco, approximately 16 miles east of Lafayette around 7:40 p.m.

When emergency crews arrived, they found debris indicating there was a crash.

Troopers say everyone on board the plane died. However, it is unknown how many passengers were on the plane.

Recent heavy rain throughout the area caused the crash scene to be very muddy and difficult to access.

ISP established a perimeter around the scene overnight due to darkness.

The plane has been identified as a Cessna 441 Conquest Turboprop. All four registered planes in Indiana matching this make and model are registered to businesses, according to the FAA.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are expected to arrive Friday morning.
