North Liberty man hailed a hero after saving neighbor from burning home

NORTH LIBERTY, Ind. -- A North Liberty man is called a hero after he rescued a woman from her burning home.

The fire started around 2:30 on July 19.

Max Edison said that if was not for his two dogs wanting outside, he never would have seen the fire.

"We got her out in the nick of time because when that door opened, it took my breath away it was so bad," Edison said.

It took firefighters about an hour to put the fire out.

The house is a total loss.

Lightning is believed to be blamed for sparking the fire.
