MIDDLEBURY, Ind. - When the 2019 high school football season begins in August, the Northridge Raiders will once again play their home games on the field by their middle school. However, a project will be underway to build a new stadium set to be complete for the 2020 season.
That football stadium is one phase of a newly-announced project to revamp the outdoor athletics facilities at Northridge. That also includes upgrades for the baseball and softball fields. All of those will include a transition to field turf, allowing for more use.
The announced project comes with the help of a $250,000 commitment from Goshen-based Interra Credit Union, which has a branch in Middlebury. That will come in the form of $50,000 per year for five years, as Northridge will name the football facility "Interra Field."
A ceremony to break ground on construction will take place on July 16.
In the videos above and below, hear from Raiders athletic director Dave Harms about the excitement to get this project underway!
