Notre Dame celebrates MLK Day

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- A special celebration for was held on Notre Dame's campus in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Father Ted Hesburgh was instrumental in the civil rights commission and played a big role in the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Monday morning there was a prayer service to honor the legacy of Dr. King.
Students, faculty, and members of the community were welcome to the golden dome to take part in the holiday celebrations.
